Surprising – the Most Expensive Shoes in the World Can’t Sell

  • Posted on September 15, 2011 at 10:35 pm

The most expensive pair of shoes in the world can’t sell. It’s surprising. Usually stars like Jennifer Lopez rush to buy exclusive things but this time no one got interested. Actually, there were plenty of people interested but for five months not a single pair was sold.

The shoes, which cost a staggering £140,000 ($319,460), are made entirely from solid gold and more than 2,000 diamonds. The design is simple enough though.

The pricey shoe was produced by British jewellery designer Christopher Michael Shellis, who said it took him three years to complete the item. Talking about selling his unique shoe he said:
At the moment there have been a lot of enquiries and talks – but nothing concrete just yet. The shoes have created a real buzz, but there is still a long way to go. We’ve had discussions with certain people but I can’t say who.”

The designer of the most expensive shoe also told what his aim of creating the pieces was:
The aim of this was to create a unique form of jewellery which you can wear on your feet. It’s a bit like if you found these on an archaeological dig in thousands of years time they would be regarded as a treasure – a treasure of the feet. But like any great treasure it will remain as beautiful as the day it was created – and we even offer an ‘eternity’ guarantee lasting 1,000 years.”

DIY Origami Chic Shoes

Now you cannot only wear chic shoes but also make fashionable shoes on your own. And I mean origami shoes. In the following content, you can learn how to make a pair of shoes. The detailed steps will help you a lot. Let’s DIY now!!

1. With the shiny side up, fold the paper in half. Make sure you crease the paper well, as this will help to hold your folds better. Now unfold your paper.

2. Lay your paper flat again (shiny side up). Fold one side so that it meets the crease of the fold you just made. Turn the paper around and repeat.

3. Unfold the folds you just made, and turn the paper over so the colored side is facing up.

4. You’ll have created mountain folds. These look like small mountains when the paper is laying on a flat surface. You’ll take one mountain fold and fold it in toward the center crease. Repeat on the other side.

5. Make the toe of your shoe. Take one corner and fold it toward the center. Do this with the other side. After you have completed the toe, take one small section of the toe fold and bend it back to make a flap.

6. Turn the paper over (shiny side up). Fold the flaps in toward the center crease (both sides). You’ll have what looks like an upward arrow. Fold the flat bottom part of the shoe upward (about 1 1/2 inch). Crease the paper well so that the heel will stay.

7. Turn your paper over and fold one side of the bottom end over to make a right angle. Unfold the paper, and do the same for the other side.

8. After the folds are created, you will have a crisscross pattern on the bottom of your shoe. This should collapse into itself. Take one flap and fold it three times. Do this with the other side. This will make your heel.

9. Start shaping the shoe. You are going to open the shoe up and insert your thumb. Start creating the shape of your shoe. Then, bend the heel out, so that your shoe can stand. Now you have made a high heel origami shoe.
