Scary Foot Evolution

  • Posted on August 10, 2011 at 2:58 am

Everyone does not want to see the foot evolution in the above picture. However, the fact is that an increasing number of women choose to wear towering high heels all day along. In general, high-heeled shoes give the illusion of longer, skinnier, toned legs. Walking around on 4-inch stiletto heels engages your leg muscles and can even make your calf muscles more defined. Plain and simple, women want to look taller and they want to look slender. High heels do both.

High heels have been proven to cause foot pain and injury. Many women admit to regularly wearing shoes that are painful and uncomfortable to walk in. So why is it that high-heeled shoes are a wardrobe staple for so many?

High-heeled shoes force the foot into a painful position. Slanted forward, weight is concentrated on the ball of the foot instead of distributed across the arch. Toes are bent upwards and crunched together. And, the raised position of the heel causes the Achilles tendon to shorten. This causes a whole host of problems, not only in your foot, but throughout your body. So, you certainly need to wear flat shoes at times.

You Need Nude This Summer

Nude shoes absolutely become the most popular shoes in 2011. The Duchess of Cambridge, Natalie Pinkham, Kirsty Gallacher and Katherine Kelly all chose to wear skin-tone heels in recent period of time. So why has everyone ‘gone nude’ this summer?

Kate is certainly the reigning Queen of Nude Shoes. Prince William’s new wife has been spotted several times in a pair of L. K. Bennett’s Sledge shoes and as a result the style has sold out, both online and in-store, with pairs on eBay going for nearly double the retail price of £175. She relied on the style for her first overseas tour and has worn them at other public engagements, teaming them with a variety of outfits.

Not so long ago, wearing anything as pedestrian as a flesh-tone stiletto would have been style suicide. Then, about four years ago, a handful of high-end designers began to rebel against increasingly unwearable eccentricities and offered more classic styles in discreet shades. Christian Louboutin, the Paris-based cobbler famed for his lipstick-red soles, quietly slipped a selection of skin-toned heels into his collections, catching the eye of celebrity fashionistas Kelly Brook and Sarah Jessica Parker. Andie McDowell and Liz Hurley both step out in nude Louboutins.

What’s the appeal of the skin-tone show?

Tamara Mellon, co-founder of Jimmy Choo, says her brand has tinkered with nude tones since 2001. ‘In 2009 we hit the perfect shade,’ she says. ‘This nude is a bestseller and is now somewhat of a Jimmy Choo signature.’ Devotees include Prime Minister’s wife Samantha Cameron, Jennifer Aniston and Eva Mendes. ‘Jimmy Choo recognised early on the colour’s inherent sexiness,’ says Tamara. ‘It resembles bare skin, and what’s sexier than that? It also elongates the leg and is very versatile.’

If you have not got a pair of nude shoes, it is time to choose your desired one online.

Actually, running in high heels takes skill. If you don’t master this skill, you’d better give it up; if you insist running in those towering heels, you may get what you want in the following content. Wish you good luck!

At first, you need to start out running slowly, so that your body gains a sense of balance before you take off at full speed. This can help you avoid falling.

Look at the surface you will be running on. Avoid grass, because it can be uneven and you could step in a hole and sprain your ankle. You also can’t see the ground surface beneath the grass to know that a hole is there.

A cushioned surface is best to run on, like an indoor running track. But how often will this be when you need to run in high heels? Most likely it will be blacktop, a sidewalk, a tiled or hardwood floor, or carpet.

If running on pavement or blacktop, just be careful not to let the heel get caught in a groove in the surface. Watch your feet at least somewhat to avoid this from happening; if running on a tiled or hardwood floor, be careful that the floor isn’t slippery or wet. Look ahead of yourself to make sure you don’t see an overly glossy surface.

Have a copy of your health insurance card with you. This way, if you do fall while running, you will have the information you need to get treated for a sprained ankle or even broken bone.

Refuse Hurt While Wearing Towering Heels

Though high heels look very sexy, however, the towering heels will bring you much hurt if you wear them improperly. Moreover, those pretty high heels will affect your overall health over time. Now it is time to learn how to wear your high heels in a correct way. Then you can become both beautiful and healthy.

Learn all that you can about high heels and how to wear them safely. There is a lot of information published out there by medical professional working in the area of the foot, leg and spine. It’s worth it to do some research so that you really understand the anatomy of the foot and why the wrong high heels can hurt you.

Measure the size of your feet. Yes, you think that you know your shoe size but you could be wrong. Even a high heel that is just a half size too large or small can cause a lot of damage when the same style in the right size wouldn’t cause you any pain at all. Have your feet professionally measured or do it at home and then make sure all of the high heels that you get from now on are the right size.

Opt only to wear high heels of an appropriate height. The right height for you varies depending on the style of the shoe, the shape of your foot and your own height. The key is not to wear high heels that are higher than is comfortable. A good way to determine this is to put the heels on, stand straight up and then lift as high up on your toes as you can. If you can’t get the back of those heels at least half an inch off of the floor then they’re too high and you shouldn’t pick them.

Pay attention to the width of the heel when selecting your high heels. Anyone who has worn stilettos and then worn pumps knows that there’s a big difference in the pain factor between these two. Choose heels that are wide enough to really support you.

Vary your shoes regularly. This is good news for those people who love to shoe shop – you’ll have a healthier experience with wearing high heels if you wear several different pairs throughout the week instead of sticking with the same pair.

Put on socks or stockings every time that you wear high heels. This will significantly reduce the pain that you feel when wearing heels.

Add insoles or gel inserts to all of your pairs of heels. This further reduces the pain of walking around all day in high heels. Play around with different inserts to find the ones that are most comfortable for you.

Hold your head up high. In other words, stand up straight when walking in high heels and you’ll immediately reduce your risk of pain.

Tune in to your body. Your body is going to tell you as soon as those heels start hurting your feet. Don’t ignore those warnings. Take the shoes off, give them a rest, consider retiring them to the back of your closet if it continues to be a problem with that pair over time. Put your comfort first!
