A Pair of Simple Red Shoes – Chic Forever

  • Posted on August 30, 2011 at 1:05 am

Can you believe that this gorgeous woman is 50? Julianne Moore looks more elegant then ever in the new Talbots campaign. She wears a pair of simple red shoes and a camel coat, looking amazingly graceful. It is the second time she has modelled for the classic brand – in the spring she posed in shorts, camisoles and cropped jackets for a playful greenhouse shoot. The Hours star replaced the supermodel Linda Evangelista who was the brand’s face for the autumn of 2010.

Talbots says the new campaign, shot by renowned photographer David Sims, has a cinematic feel for the Oscar-nominated leading lady ‘while also capturing Ms Moore’s personality and classic beauty.’ The classic beauty adds her inimitable chic to the brand.

Michael Smaldone, Chief Creative Officer of Talbots, said: ‘Julianne Moore is a classic beauty, an extraordinary actress, mother, author and a true modern woman. She embodies the true essence of the Talbots’ brand platform.’

The adverts will launch in September and October in glossy women’s magazines and high-end fashion publications such as Vogue, Marie Claire and Glamour.

The brand, which is enjoying an image makeover through the allegiance with the effortlessly chic actress, has slogans including ‘We believe blazers are beautiful, but trailblazers are stunning.’ and ‘We believe that charm is the best accessory.’

Three Major Types of Fashion Shoes

  • Posted on August 22, 2011 at 3:39 am

Both fashion shoes and fashion clothes are important parts in the field of fashion. And when you think of fashion shoes, you can separate them into three major types: women’s shoes, men’s shoes and unisex shoes. And women’s shoes have hundreds of varieties that come into the market. Men has much less shoe varieties as women, but now you can find much more men’s fashion shoes than before, and they are all made according to the latest fashion trend. Find more about the three main types of fashion shoes below.

Women’s shoes: when you talk of women’s fashion shoes high heel foot wear is the most popular. The height of the heel is an indication of the lady’s penchant for fashion. Stiletto heels with almost pointed ends and very high above the toes require some practice and not all women are comfortable in them. Even flat heeled has high heels. Women’s fashion shoes are mostly of very good leather. They are made for different purposes and come in different names like Sneakers, Slingbacks, Pumps, are some of the notable variations. Ballet flats are the only shoes that come with low heels and used mostly in warm weather.

Men’s shoes: men’s fashion shoes are more about the quality of the leather and the use for which the shoes will be put. Formal men’ shoes are made by several companies all over the world. When it comes to fashion shoes for men it is centered three or four points. One of them is the toe end. Narrow pointed round, square, broad are some of the versions. Second points relate to the opening and the lace. Thirdly the height of the heels. Strangely, fashion has over taken even athletic shoes. They have been transformed from simple canvas shoes to present super models.

Unisex: fashion shoes come in unisex versions also. They relate mainly informal wear. Unisex fashion shoes use both soft and thick leather and also open and closed versions, with or without lace.

DIY Origami Chic Shoes

Now you cannot only wear chic shoes but also make fashionable shoes on your own. And I mean origami shoes. In the following content, you can learn how to make a pair of shoes. The detailed steps will help you a lot. Let’s DIY now!!

1. With the shiny side up, fold the paper in half. Make sure you crease the paper well, as this will help to hold your folds better. Now unfold your paper.

2. Lay your paper flat again (shiny side up). Fold one side so that it meets the crease of the fold you just made. Turn the paper around and repeat.

3. Unfold the folds you just made, and turn the paper over so the colored side is facing up.

4. You’ll have created mountain folds. These look like small mountains when the paper is laying on a flat surface. You’ll take one mountain fold and fold it in toward the center crease. Repeat on the other side.

5. Make the toe of your shoe. Take one corner and fold it toward the center. Do this with the other side. After you have completed the toe, take one small section of the toe fold and bend it back to make a flap.

6. Turn the paper over (shiny side up). Fold the flaps in toward the center crease (both sides). You’ll have what looks like an upward arrow. Fold the flat bottom part of the shoe upward (about 1 1/2 inch). Crease the paper well so that the heel will stay.

7. Turn your paper over and fold one side of the bottom end over to make a right angle. Unfold the paper, and do the same for the other side.

8. After the folds are created, you will have a crisscross pattern on the bottom of your shoe. This should collapse into itself. Take one flap and fold it three times. Do this with the other side. This will make your heel.

9. Start shaping the shoe. You are going to open the shoe up and insert your thumb. Start creating the shape of your shoe. Then, bend the heel out, so that your shoe can stand. Now you have made a high heel origami shoe.

Foot Tips in Pregnancy

Everyone knows that Victoria Beckham is a loyal fan of towering heels. During her pregnancy, she still wore high heels in the public. However, ordinary pregnant women should not follow her. There are some useful foot health tips for the mother-to-be. Take a look at them!!

Wear comfortable, supportive footwear, ideally with a strap, laces, or Velcro. Choose a heel height of 3 centimeters, as this shifts your weight a little further forward on your feet, which can help alleviate discomfort. Avoid wearing high heels, as this can place unnecessary pressure on your joints at a time when they are already under strain.

Choose supportive footwear with extra shock absorption, a supportive arch, and firm heel is essential. Don’t cross your legs or ankles when sitting.

Keep active. Keep the lower limbs moving even when resting. Lying on your back and simulating riding a bike will help the muscles in the leg and reduce swelling. Prevent cramps from occurring by boosting circulation. Try rotating your ankles 10 times to the left and 10 times to the right, and repeating. Before you start an exercise program, check with your doctor.

Raise your feet and legs up whenever you can and do daily leg and calf stretches. If you experience arch pain, a podiatrist may be able to provide special inserts for your shoes to help treat the problem.

Wear surgical stockings — with advice from a health professional. Feet tend to swell during the day, so buy shoes later in the afternoon when your feet are at their largest. Make sure there is 1 centimeter between the longest toe and the end of the shoe. Choose shoes with a toe box that is high enough and wide enough to comfortably fit, either rounded or square shaped, not pointed.
